Organizational Meeting for Fall 2012: time and location TBA
All new and returning K-State students who are Orthodox Christians, catechumens, or inquirers into Orthodox Christianity are invited
to attend the 9:30 a.m. Saturday Divine Liturgies offered by our host church, St. Mary Magdalene. Due to our small size we share our priest
with our mother parish of Sts. Peter and Paul, Topeka, and are obliged by both the canons and logistical considerations to offer our
Liturgies on Saturdays. (We have about 1/4 the
membership our Archdiocese would define as a parish, and have about 1/4 the budget we would need to call our own priest.)
Divine Services are offered by the K-State OCF's host church,
The St. Mary Magdalene Orthodox Christian Mission at St. Mary
Magdalene House, 913 Riley Lane, Manhattan.
The regularly scheduled service is the Divine Liturgy at 9:30 AM
on Saturdays. See the Mission webpage for additional services
or schedule changes. The normative Sunday Divine Liturgy and many feast day
services are offered by the mother parish of the Mission, SS. Peter and Paul, Topeka and
All Saints Orthodox Church,
Salina, each located about an hour's drive from K-State.
Orthodox Christian Fellowships on college and university campuses
nationwide are a ministry of The Episcopal Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Hierarchs of North and Central America, and operates with the blessing of all
its member hierarchs.
The K-State Orthodox Christian Fellowship serves K-State and the surrounding
community, and registers with the SGA whenever student interest runs
high enough.
Membership is open to all Orthodox Christian students at K-State, and to all
students with a sincere interest in and desire to learn
about
Eastern Orthodox Christianity. Our events are all open to the general
public.
The Orthodox Christian Fellowship, in conjunction with the
St. Mary Magdalene Orthodox Christian Mission, sponsors Orthodox Christian
worship services
and
educational events at K-State.
Our spiritual oversight is provided by Archpriest Joseph Longfono,
priest of SS. Peter and Paul Church, Topeka, KS. and the St. Mary Magdalene Mission, with
occasional
assistance from the other
area clergy.
SS. Peter and Paul and St. Mary Magdalene are under the omophorion of Bishop
+BASIL of
the Diocese of Wichita and Mid-America of the Self-Ruled Antiochian
Orthodox
Christian Archdiocese of North America.
