Welcome to the |
This semester, the OCF is reading and discussing The Way of a Pilgrim, the Russian spiritual classic concerning hesychastic prayer in a non-monastic context. If time permits we will continue with the sequel The Pilgrim Continues His Way, which is of a more apologetic character.
The OCF also plans to undertake service projects this semester, both for the St. Mary Magdalene Mission, and if suitable scheduling can be arranged, for the Flint Hills Breadbasket as well.
The K-State Orthodox Christian Fellowship serves K-State and the surrounding
community, and registers with the O.S.A.S. whenever student interest runs
high enough. OCFs in general are the campus ministries of SCOBA.
Membership is open to all Orthodox Christian students at K-State, and to all
students with a sincere interest in and desire to learn
about
Eastern Orthodox Christianity. Our events are all open to the general
public.
The Orthodox Christian Fellowship, in conjunction with the
St. Mary Magdalene Orthodox Christian Mission, sponsors Orthodox Christian
worship services
and
educational events at K-State.
Our spiritual oversight is provided by Archimandrite Daniel [Griffith],
priest of All
Saints
Orthodox Church, Salina, KS. and the St. Mary Magdalene Mission, with
occasional
assistance from the other
area clergy.
All Saints and St. Mary Magdalene are under the jurisdiction of
the Diocese of Wichita and Mid-America of the Self-Ruled Antiochian
Orthodox
Christian Archdiocese of North America.
